Felony and Misdemeanor Classifications in the State of Washington

Misdemeanors and Gross Misdemeanors: Any crime punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than ninety days, or by both such fine and imprisonment is a misdemeanor.

Class C Felonies: Punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or $10,000 in fines.

Class B Felonies: Punishable by up to 10 years in prison and/or $20,000 in fines.

Class A Felonies: Punishable by up to life imprisonment and/or $50,000 in fines.
